Here I’m going to post scripts with information on using them. They’ll cover a variety of things: analysis, stats, data-cleanup, etc.
intervals-script This script creates a textgrid of some length with intervals every x seconds. It assists with transcribing by giving you lots of intervals to put text into rather than having to create lots of turns by hand.
30-70-vowels This script runs over textgrids from the Penn Forced Aligner. It extracts formant values for ASH and BET, and converts to Bark and euclidean distance measurements. If you are working on a file called blah.wav, the textgrid should be named blah.textgrid; open both of the files into the objects window, only highlight the textgrid, then run the script.
30-70-vowels-2 This script is the same as the first 30-70-vowels except it also prints out F1-F3 values in Hertz.
30-70-vowels-libby This script extracts almost all vowels. It’s a modification of the above scripts for Libby’s project.
mark1 This script extracts all vowels, in Hertz, Bark, and euclidean distance at 30% and 70% heads and tails. Open your wav and your textgrid (of the same name) into the objects window, highlight the texgrid, and run. The output file is mark-data.txt.
mark1 This is the same as mark1 except instead of getting the start-time for vowels, it gets their midpoint time to help sorting, so if you sort by time, a word is always followed by its contituent vowels.

The House This script shows a way of making a text-based game in praat. It works by having a form with a variable which interacts with one big if-loop.
