How to access and run the aligner in the Phonetics Lab (Mac/Linux)
1. Go to http://www.doit.wisc.edu/network/vpn/ to install a program that will let you remotely connect to UW servers. Once this is installed and you are logged-in through it:
2. Open a terminal
3. > ssh phonetics@144.92.15.117
Password: 32phoneticianshello
(you are now logged-in to Paco under the name “phonetics”)
4. > cd Desktop/p2fa
Now you are in the right directory and have to get your (small) files onto Paco.

5. > sudo python align.py file.wav file.txt file-textgrid.txt
file.wav is your wav file; file.txt is your transcript in plain text, and file-textgrid is the outputted textgrid.
