Here I’ll be posting some results from my drunk speech research as it comes through. I’m currently looking at low vowels and sentence prosody.
This plot is of sober vs. two-drinks for the low vowels of WI women.
a = black
æ = blue
ↄ = red
Time 1 = solid line
Time 2 = dotted
Time 3 = dashed
These are 95% confidence intervals. You can see a reduction in each phoneme’s area. æ and ↄ tilt slightly counterclockwise, while a tilts more clockwise.
