Ultrasound Instructions
Pt 1: Setup
1. Hardware
A. hook everything up.
input device: mic ….. >
input device: u/s …….> both feed into DVR > mac using the firewire converter
B. turn on u/s
— turn on
— settings:
Freq – 5.0 MHz
Map – gray map 4
Focus – press until see arrow around 8 cm on screen
iClear – (think this is on)
FOV – W
Dynamic Range – 85
C. turn on DVR
— DVR has an on/off button in the back (press first) and a Power button on the front (press second)
— press the Analog input (towards bottom right)
D. turn on preamp
— make sure the preamp has batteries. Turn Power switch on. Set Gaind to 50ish.
2. Software
A. open iMovie on Mac
File > input from camera
— you should see the ultrasound appear on the Mac; if you don’t get the u/s, then make sure the analog button on the dvr is pushed.
B. put the mic on your head and adjust so mic is near the corner of your mouth [should measure distance]
